Enable Privacy Settings

To access Privacy Mode in Cursor, start by opening Cursor and navigating to the top-right corner of your screen. Click the gear icon to open Settings. Once you’re in Settings, scroll down until you see the Privacy Mode option. Toggle the switch to turn Privacy Mode on, which stops your code from being stored or used for any training purposes. While still in Settings, find the Data Indexing option. Turn this off if you don’t want your code to be indexed or uploaded for search. Remember, you can manually index specific files later if needed. If you’re using your own API key, go to API settings. Enter your key there, but keep in mind that requests still pass through Cursor’s backend. This step aids in final prompt construction, so consider it carefully.
