What is MCP
I'm going to explain you now what Model Context Protocol is. MCP is a standard that lets AI systems connect to different tools and data sources in a consistent way. Tools could be HubSpot, Legacy here, or GitHub, Slack, MS Teams, even your local CRM, so you don't have to rely on cloud service or SS, you can connect your local tools too. And for data services that can be databases or local file system manipulations, and so on. And in a consistent way means that everything is built upon this standard. That's why Model Context Protocol is called a standard. It makes it easier for them to access information and perform tasks across these various applications. One of the prominent or most prominent examples is it functions like a USB port. One connection point for many devices. That means it sits in the middle here and lets teams like Sales, PM, HR, and so on, ask questions. And that questions get routed to the right service, such as HubSpot, GitHub, and so on. Without any extra setup, it's just plug and play. That means instead of building a separate link for each tool, MCP gives one shared interface. And that's awesome. For example, the salesperson is asking, "Hey, what today's closed deals?" And the person is typing this in a chat interface and talking to an AI agent. And the AI agent is calling the correct tool like your HubSpot. And HubSpot is returning the answer based on the question. So the tool gets called. Hey, someone wants to know something about deals, closed, and sales. Okay, HubSpot is the correct tool which we need to use. And then HubSpot will answer that question. And the same with all others here. In a technical term, it uses a client and server setup, so AI tools can connect to external systems in the same way. And the key part is that MCP speaks JSON RPC 2.0. Meaning each request, whatever it's for data or action, uses the same simple format, just JSON. In short, MCP works like a plugin system. You can add services to an AI system without building a custom connection for each one. That's all for the MCP explanation. Let's move on to the next slide.
